On Sept. 18 the council hopes to finalize the plan for theamphitheater, which is on 159 acres just south of the MinnesotaRiver and west of I-35W. Details need to be ironed out regardingcleanup of the landfill by the family that owns the site and thestate's Pollution Control Agency.

The Blackdog proejct is actively opposed both by nearbyresidents in Burnsville and Bloomington, who recently petitionedthe Metropolitan Council to review the project. The developers ofthe project are the owners of the new Minnesota Wild professionalhockey franchise and Rose Presents, a concert promoter.
