PHOENIX-Landis Plastics has started construction of a 140,000-sf manufacturing plant in the far west Valley.

Chicago-based Landis makes plastic containers. Its new building will stand on the corner of 83rd Avenue and Van Buren Street in the suburb of Tolleson and house as many as 175 employees.

Phoenix-based Johnson Carrier is the project’s general contractor. The far west Valley is a popular area for manufacturers and distributors because land prices are relatively cheap and there’s easy access to Interstate 10 and rail lines.
