Both projects involve the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in LA, ahospital facility that is perhaps best known for caring for a longlist of celebrities over the years. The first project calls forMcCarthy to serve as general contractor of the hospital's new S.Mark Taper Foundation Imaging Center, with a total constructioncost of $34 million.
The job includes construction of about 65,000 sf and renovationof an additional 65,000 sf. Completion is scheduled for March2002.
The second contract, with a $69-million construction cost,involves building an eight-story tower to house a new emergencydepartment and other operations. Construction is to begin in 2002and take 26 months to complete.
