The Samba Room, which features Latin and Caribbean dishes, wasstarted in Dallas and is owned by Dallas-based Carlson RestaurantsWorldwide Inc., also the owner of about 590 T.G.I Friday's eateriesplus Aquaknox, Italianni's, Mignon, Star Canyon, Taqueris Canonita,and Timpano Italian Chophouse. Carlson Restaurants last yearreported $691.3 million in sales, a 15.4% increase from the prioryear.
The Denver Samba Room will occupy 3,500 sf on the ground levelof the historic Granite Building at 15th and Larimer streets.Metropolitan Art Gallery and Williams-Sonoma previously hadoccupied the space.
