CHICAGO-Needham, MA-based specialty grocer Trader Joe’s will open up to 20 stores in the Chicago-area as part of the company’s strategy of penetrating the market here.

The company is opening its first four locations in Northbrook, Glenview, Glen Ellyn and Downers Grove, all north suburban locations. Scheduled opening for the first four locations is November. Mid-America Real Estate handled the lease transactions here in conjunction with Milestone Associates of Natick, MA.

Trader Joe’s has 132 stores in West, Southwest and East Coast. The company offers mostly high quality, private label foods and organic produce.
