"There are a few zoning changes that are needed, but I expectfinal approval tonight or tomorrow," says Joe Napolitano, directorof community development for the city of McHenry. He says the95-acre project, which will straddle Illinois Route 31, will be thelargest retail development in the city's history.

"It's been two years in the making," says Napolitano. "Terracowas the initial developer for for the 27 acres on the west side ofRoute 31, but Rubloff bought them out."

Arthur Rubloff & Co. of Hoffman Estates, IL will develop thesites for Home Depot and Meijer and is near finalizing a sale ofthe land to both companies, Napolitano said. "It's my understandingthese companies have policies about owning their own realestate."
