EUGENE, OR-Obie Media Corp. is expanding its West 11th Avenue headquarters here. The transit display advertising firm in November is taking over an adjoining space in the building that has been vacant since last October. The expansion will add 11,000 sf to its 19,000-sf headquarters.

Obie is spending about $750,000 to renovate the space. The building currently houses the company’s administrative and sales offices, art department and production facilities. The expansion will make room for artists and accountants, a larger production space and a bigger meeting and lunch rooms.

Obie, which has sales offices Los Angeles, Chicago and New York, employs 72 people in Eugene. The company sells and makes ads for the sides of buses, commuter trains and bus shelters.
