FT. WORTH-The Ft. Worth Federal Credit Union has bought 10 acres to build a $7-million, 49,000-sf headquarters and branch office in Bedford.

The Forest Ridge Dr. property was purchased last week from HCS-The Healthacre Co. Plans call for a two-story office structure to employ an initial work force of 63. The credit union presently houses 60 workers at its Downtown Ft. Worth office. It also has two branches each in Ft. Worth and Arlington and one in Bedford.

KDA, a design-build company based in Marietta, GA, will serve as developer and contractor for the project. The architect is McCleary/German Associates of Houston. Construction is to begin this month, with delivery tentatively slated for February 2002.
