"It certainly is the largest property and full-serviceminority-owned company in the region," says real estate veteranGeorge Thorn, principal of Mile High Cos., which owns the remaining49% of Mile High Properties.

Williams, a lawyer by training, joined Mile High Properties inMay. "Anecdotally, we've researched it and asked around and couldfind no larger minority-owned company," he says. Before joiningMile High Properties, Williams headed the Denver operation forTeachers Insurance and Annuity Association Colorado RetirementFund. He also is chairman of the Denver Urban RenewalAuthority.

Mile High Properties manages 4 million sf of space in mostlyclass A office high-rises. It's ranked third in size overall inDenver, with the other big competitors being national firms, suchas Trammell Crow and Jones Lang Wooten. Thorn told GlobeSt.com thatMile High Properties is probably the region's leader in terms ofmanaging office buildings.
