The college is currently occupying temporary space at the onemillion-sf former Port Authority Industrial Park complex that isowned by an affiliate of National RE/sources of Greenwich, CT,ipark on Hudson, LLC. Mercy College expects to take occupancy ofits extension center space at Building #3 by early 2001 and hopesto house 300 students at the facility by next fall and as many as1,000 students within the next two years.

"We believe that the riverfront at Yonkers has great potential,and Mercy is excited about our investment in the Downtown area,"comments Lucie Lapovsky, president of Mercy College. "This is agreat partnership between Mercy College and the city of Yonkers andthe result will be increased opportunity for every student in thearea who desires a quality education."

Joseph Cotter, president of ipark on Hudson, says the firm isalso in negotiations with the city to establish a 13,000-sftechnology incubator at the Building #3, 28 Wells Ave., propertythat totals more than 100,000 sf of space.
