WASHINGTON, DC-The Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center have signed three new tenants, bringing businesses in technology, media and education alongside the center’s government and private occupants.

Global Plasma Systems Group will move into a high-profile section called America’s Showcase, made up of “storefront” suites that market companies, technology, products and services.

The company provides waste-to-energy services, chiefly by developing plasma-heating technology to provide environmentally sound sources of power and fuel. It will move into 1,800 sf in November.

Also moving into the Showcase is WorldViewTV (WNVC), the nation’s only non-commercial television station with an international format. It will set up a 610-sf broadcast studio visible to the public.

The chance to be associated with the International Trade Center and in Washington meshed well with its focus on global affairs, says Frederick Thomas, WNVC’s vice president and general manager.

WNVC, which has won three regional Emmy Awards for excellence in programming, plans to create a nightly international program from the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center.

University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business will bring its nationally ranked evening MBA program to the center. It is designed to meet the needs of working professionals who want access to a top-ranked program in the city. It will occupy about 5,840 sf.
