LOS ANGELES-A large auto dealership chain has agreed to open a $10-million, two-block-long retail lot in San Fernando, a relatively poor community about 25 miles northwest of Downtown.

Rydell Automotive Group will open its new facility on a site bounded by Truman, Celis, Chatsworth and Wolfskill streets. It will sell cars made by General Motors and employ about 100 people.

The parcel is in a redevelopment agency, which means Rydell may get some extra cash from the local government if certain sales levels are met. No cash will be offered if the company doesn’t meet its sales goals.
