Wallace moves up to chairman of the EDC for the 2002 fiscalyear. He would be the first African-American to head theorganization. As chairman, Wallace would advise Chief ExecutiveDarrell Kelley who handles EDC's daily operations.
Taking over this year's chairmanship role Oct. 1 is Howell W.Melton Jr., an Orlando lawyer. Melton succeeds Thomas Hunt,regional director of BellSouth Telecommunications. John Rigsby,president of Time Warner Communications in Orlando, will serve asecond term as secretary/treasurer.
