Caremark RX Inc. says the operation will complement its existingcustomer service center in the city. The new building at ParkwayPlaza will deliver in November.

Lucent Technologies will be developing a new telecommunicationsplatform for the operation. Caremark's Rich Scardina, senior vicepresident of operations, says the new facility is needed to keeppace with the company's growing base in the region.

Caremark is a leading prescription benefit manager that providesservices to more than 1,200 health plan sponsor and 20 million USenrollees. Caremark's clients include managed care organizations,insurance companies, corporate health plans, unions, governmentagencies and other funded benefit plans. The company operates anational retail pharmacy network with 50,000+ participatingpharmacies, three mail service pharmacies, the industry's onlyFDA-regulated repackaging plant, and 17 therapeutic pharmacies thatdeliver advanced medications to patients with chronic or geneticdiseases and disorders.
