The new corporate site, to be constructed on Costco-ownedproperty located immediately north of Interstate 90, would looksimilar to the company's existing buildings, with three stories ofoffice space and one level of underground parking. It wouldincrease Costco's office space by about 57%.

The proposed expansion received unanimous approval by Issaquah'sdevelopment commission at a meeting Sept. 20. Barring any publicobjections that must be voiced by Oct. 9, Costco will be granted apermit to begin construction. Costco officials say they expect tobegin work on the building within the next few weeks and anticipatethat construction will take 12 to 15 months to complete. In theinterim, Costco will look at leasing space to facilitate itsexploding growth.
