WASHINGTON, DC-Architect James Greenwell has left District-based Greenwell Goetz Architects, the firm he started 22 years ago with partner Lewis Goetz.

“The market is healthy, which provides me with the opportunity to step back, make an assessment of what’s going on and take a look at what direction in architecture makes sense for me,” said Greenwell in a statement.

Disagreements reportedly arose between the two partners about how to run the business. Within the last year, four senior managers have left the firm.
