Formerly located in Redwood City, Calif., the nonprofitorganization is moving to new offices in San Mateo - at an oldmotorcycle dealership. The Society has signed a 16-year lease onthe E. Fifth Avenue location.
The region's super-tight and expensive rental market pushed thegroup to buy the former Kawasaki dealership this spring, paying$800,000 for the space and an additional $300,000 in renovations.The group put in losing bids on 20 other properties before landingthe new space.
