The comments are being released Tuesday along with comments onStanford's land use permit and the final environmental impactreport. They call for preserving Stanford's 2,000 acres offoothills for 25 years, or until the university expands its corecampus by five million sf. The university only wants to make a10-year commitment.
The overall Stanford plan proposes 3,000 new housing units forstudents and faculty. Stanford's overall plan, if approved, willresult in 4 million sf of academic and housing development in thenext decade, increasing campus density by a third.
The county planning commission will meet Oct. 18 and 19 to goover its staff's findings and make a final recommendation to thecounty supervisors. The supervisors will vote on Oct. 31 to acceptthe plans.
