McGregor Manufacturing Corp. has decided to build three newfacilities onits almost nine acres of land abutting Maple Road. Thecompany currentlyoperates out of one 25,000-sf building on theproperty.Plans are to expand the current building by 4,000 sf andlease it out,says Scott McGregor, vice president of sales. Thecompany will then build a36,075-sf building to the rear for its ownuse.

The renovated building, along Maple Road, is being looked at byonecommercial tenant, McGregor says. He declined to name theinterested party.The other two facilities will be build-to-suits.One will be 31,180-sf,and the other 37,044-sf. Both will bedesigned for high-tech office andresearch/development use, McGregorsays.

He said the purpose behind the $15-million construction projectis tostrengthen the company's own pocketbook."We're tired of payingtaxes on 8.6 acres of weeds," McGregor says.The company hasapproval for the renovations to the 25,000-sf building,but isawaiting full site plan approval for the new construction.McGregorsays the company hopes to break ground on its newheadquarters next spring,with completion in the summer.
