Egghead's veep of operations Norm Hullinger tells GlobeSt.comthat the site was selected for is price, location, and wide-openwarehouse format. The property sits near Interstate 5 and Highway14. Hullinger is not yet revealing the lease rate because the dealis not yet finalized.

Egghead sells computer hardware and software, as well aselectronics and leisure goods. It hopes to occupy the building byNov. 1, and be employing as many as 300 people in the facility byearly next year. The company currently employs 380 people at itsdistribution and administration center in the Columbia BusinessCenter at 514 Chkalov Dr.

An obstacle to the Egghead lease of the site was its industrialzoning, but the city eventually decided to allow the customerservice center operation after Egghead said it would use part ofthe space for warehousing and distribution activity.
