The 70,000-sf flex office building that Fender will occupy isone of four office buildings planned for the Chaparral BusinessCenter, which is along the north side of Chaparral Road, just westof the Loop 101. Scottsdale borders the project to the west.

The $6-million, 70,000-sf office building is being built by theSalt River Pima Maricopa Indian Community, which is flush with cashfrom its popular gaming casinos. The deal is being financedinternally by the community.

Construction is scheduled to begin this fall, with occupancyexpected by August 2001.Fender signed a 10-year lease valued atmore than $6 million.
