Information submitted to the city says the 64,000-sf buildingwill be leased to a number of different companies who will use itto house communications switching equipment and ground-floor officespace. Aster has obtained a city permit to demolish the formerWoolworth building, which is located near a Qwest switchingfacility at 10th Avenue and Oak Street.
Meanwhile, Aster's Westec North business park is taking on itssecond telecommunications tenant in Iowa-based McLeod USA. Theswitching facility will occupy an 18,000-square-foot building atWestec North, near the Hyundai computer chip factory in west Eugeneand adjacent AT&T's switching facility, which is also locatedin an 18,000-sf Westec building.
