Lefkovits had been working with the Technology Forum analyzingtechnological products and services. Over the years he hasresearched and assessed broadband, e-procurement, e-payment andonline listing services. Back in 1988, he had worked as aphotojournalist working to innovate beta testing of high-speed datatransmission, digital imaging and transmission technology forKodak, Fuji and Sony.

On the finance side, he earned a master's degree in publicadministration from Princeton University's Woodrow Wilson School ofPublic International Affairs. Then he obtained a bachelor's degreein economics from Yale University. At the NMHC for the last threeyears, he has overseen educational programs, issues management andmultifamily housing policy.

Lefkovits will be focusing on next-generation Web-basedapplications for property owners, new technology resources ande-commerce from move-in through move-out. "Steve is the creator ofNMHC's Technology Forum, which assists the council's members inshaping technology strategies," writes Frank C. McDowell, BRE'spresident and CEO, in a written statement. "Few people in anyindustry have Steve's thorough knowledge of the application oftechnology to the management and marketing of multifamily realestate."
