SEATTLE–Electronics Giant Best Buy is entering the Puget Sound market with two 45,000 sf stores set to open on Friday. The first store is located on Southcenter Parkway in Tukwila. The second can be found on Northgate Way, near Seattle’s Northgate Mall.

The stores are the first to be opened in the state of Washington by the electronics retailer. Depending on how they do, it may be just the beginning. Best Buy Spokeswoman Jenny Bohuslavsky says the company, which currently has 401 stores in 40 states, is on an aggressive growth track and is currently opening 60 stores a year. Though she wouldn’t speculate on where the new stores will be located, she says Best Buy plans to have 650 stores nationwide by 2004.
