The new facility at 22823 NW Bennet Road will open next monthfollowing tenant improvements to serve 13 western states. NeitherCarrAmerica nor Volkswagen could immediately be reached for commenton lease terms.
The building will open officially on November 6, 2000 with 50employees. VW Credit plans to expand to 70 people by the end of theyear and add an additional 25 after the first of the year. Theproject has ultimately planned for 218 employees.
The goal of the center is to better accommodate western dealeroperations later in the business day and provide enhanced servicesto retail and lease customers. The building will also serve as adisaster recovery site for VW for the US and Canada, withuninterrupted computer service in the event of a natural disasteror prolonged power outage.
