The Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation has offered to host the stadiumon a stretch of land along the Beeline Highway in the East Valley.The Nation offers plentiful land, easily financed access roads andparking lots.

The Nation's proposed site is one of three offered for thelocation of the new stadium, which will also include office,retail, entertainment and hotel space. One site is in west Phoenix,near Interstate 10 and 99th Avenue, and another along the boarderbetween suburbs Mesa and Tempe, near the interchange of the Loop101 and Loop 202.

"Our role is to protect the interests of the community and toselect the best site," says Jim Grogan, chairman of the Tourism andSports Authority Board, which is spearheading the stadium drive."We have three extremely viable sites, and we don't plan toeliminate any of them before the election."
