The Arapahoe County Planning Commission recently has agreed toamend its comprehensive plan to include the development. In August,the commission had rejected the amendment for WorldPark afterlistening to the pros and cons from more than 300 people.
Local developer Chris Fellows' plans call for a Bandimere dragstrip and possibly a large speedway. The park also would include aBurt Automotive Network Auto Plaza, golf course, offices, retailstores and an American Indian arts and cultural center.
Fellows' next step is to get Aurora to annex the property. Inorder to accomplish that, Aurora voters must rescind a law passedlast year that bars building a racetrack within city limits. Theballoting is set for the Nov. 7 election.
