The Mission Bay project is slated to include a five million sfcorporate and tech campus, 6,090 residential units, a 500-roomhotel, and 700,000 sf of retail space. Additionally, the site willfeature a new life-sciences campus for the University of Californiaat San Francisco, along with 49 acres of parks and open spaces."Mission Bay is the biggest shot in the arm this city has receivedin more than 30 years," says Brown.

Catellus has to date pre-leased a 270,000-sf office building atthe site. Construction is scheduled to begin later this year. Atpress time, information about the tenant was unavailable. MissionHousing Development began construction yesterday on Orlando CepedaPlace, a 100-unit affordable housing complex adjacent to the newlyopened Pacific Bell Park.
