The city's planning commission has signed off on the expansionfor the new timeshare beach resort that is being developed byDallas-based Silverleaf Resorts Inc. The $15 million, 125-unitfirst phase of the project is about 50% sold as constructioncontinues. Dirt will begin flying in 2002 on the 135-unit secondphase. The project is located on Farm Road 3005 on the west end ofGalveston, situated on the Gulf of Mexico about 50 miles south ofHouston.
