The new call center will accommodate up to 200 full andpart-time workers, company officials note. The Norwalk office willremain Virgin Atlantic's US headquarters, although the 400employees there will be "temporarily reduced" to 250 workers afterthe opening of the Stamford call reservation center. VirginAtlantic states that it intends to add employees at its Norwalkheadquarters in the future.

"When we moved to Norwalk five years ago, we expected that wehad enough space for at least 10 years," says David Tait, executivevice president of Virgin Atlantic. "We have grown faster than weever could have predicted. This expansion will encompass ouranticipated growth needs for the next 10 years--we hope."
