Wayport Getting Connected in Los Angeles Area

AUSTIN-An Austin-based IT provider has snagged pacts to deliver laptop comfort to six more Los Angeles-area hotels, bringing its contracted total to 16. Wayport Inc., founded four years ago, provides in-room high-speed wired and wireless access. Coming on line by year’s end will be Good Nite Inn in Calabasas, CA; Chatsworth Hotel; Wyndham Garden Hotel in Orange County; Summerfield Suites in El Segundo and Torrance/Redondo Beach; and Wyndham Bel Age. Wayport’s existing portfolio includes hotels in the San Fernando Valley, West Hollywood, Downtown LA and Bunker Hill.

“Not only is Los Angeles one of the most popular business and leisure destinations in the US, it is also a hotspot for many leading software and entertainment technology businesses. Accordingly, business travelers expect the latest in personal technology service and convenience,” says Dave Vucina, Wayport’s CEO.

Wayport wires guestrooms and meeting rooms and uses wireless technology in the lobby, meeting rooms and public areas such as the pool and restaurants.

In addition to Wayport’s expanding footprint in Los Angeles, the company recently launched its service at Dallas-Ft. Worth International Airport and Austin Bergstrom International Airport, with plans to launch another major-market US airport by year-end.
