The project adds office space to an area in hot demand asspace-seeking tenants continue to expand outside of the Valley'sinner core. Construction is expected to begin later this year, buta firm start date has not yet been announced. "Given its ...location and its strong design, the Pacific Bay Building willattract a first-rate tenant," Pacific Bay Homes senior vicepresident Scott Goldie said when announcing the project's approval.No potential tenants have yet been specified.

San Jose-based architecture firm the Hagman Group designed thebuilding, which will feature a prominent balcony and landscapingconsistent with its shoreline surroundings. In a nod to potentialenvironmental concerns surrounding the project, the developers saythey will contribute an unspecified amount of money for theacquisition and restoration of 1.2 acres of local wetlands.
