MINNEAPOLIS-Bruce Lambrecht is proposing a site he owns in thewarehouse district of Downtown Minneapolis as apotential site for a new privately funded professionalbaseball park.

Lambrecht is president of InvestmentManagement Inc., which owns a site between North 5thand North 7th streets in Downtown Minneapolis. Heargues that his site would be less expensive–up to$100 million cheaper–than others being consideredbecause it already has nearby parking and publictransportation.

A 40,000-seat open stadium wouldlikely cost from $250 million to $270 million, hesays. Lambrecht made his case to the New BallparkInc. panel, a 17-member group appointed by city andbusiness leaders to study issues concerning aprivately-funded ballpark for the Minnesota Twins.
