Centex Materials is a subsidiary of Dallas-based CentexConstruction Products and is a major supplier of ready-mix concretein Central Texas. Centex Materials had purchased the Georgetownquarry in June 1999, with some improvements starting up thefollowing December.
The $14-million project is expected to wrap up in summer 2001,increasing the plant's capacity to 1,000 tons per hour. CentexMaterials also is planning to add a concrete plant to the site,which produces aggregates to the asphalt and concrete market ofWilliamson County and north Austin. Centex Materials will own nineconcrete plants with the expansion.
