Lansing Township recently approved a planned unit developmentfor 191 acres at U.S. 127 and Lake Lansing Road.The PUD, whichamended the master plan, was prompted by the development proposedby Michael Eyde of East Lansing. The owner of the property, Eydepresented plans at a township meeting to develop an 800,000-sfmall, big box stores and restaurants. AIG Baker Shopping CenterProperties of Birmingham, Ala. would build the mall.

The plan also includes a 550,000 outdoor mall, similar to adowntown shopping development, said Deputy Supervisor DeAnnOverton. Jeffrey R. Anderson Real Estate of Cincinnati would buildthe second facility."We're now waiting for Eyde to submit anapplication for rezoning the property, and a site plan," Overtonsaid.

The property is currently zoned mostly residential.
