A wireless local area network is then installed, which is connected to the Internet via a wide area network. Networkbackbones within the building are hooked up totransmitters/antennas in stairwells or mechanical rooms andinterface cards installed in customers' computers that send a radiosignal to the transmitter.

Advantages of this approach is that it allows PCs or laptops tobe used anywhere on the premises without having to be connected toa cable or phone line. The company also provides web cams thatallow tenants to view sections of their building to see, forexample, if any washing machines are available in the laundryroom.
