The interior of all three terminals at KCIA will be rehabbed.More than35,000 sf will be added and the number of entry doors willbeconsolidated. Improvements will also be made to the HVAC andelectricsystems and new baggage belts and ticket counters will beadded.

"The beauty of the work to be done at KCI is that it will bedone insections to minimize the inconvenience to the passengers andairportusers," says Joe McBride, spokesperson for KCI. "Our airportis veryconvenient in that you can drive to within 75 yards of whereyou willboard the plane. It is imperative that we communicate withthe publicthat this work is going to take place so that they mayplan ahead."

Plans are being made to add 15,000 more spaces in the satelliteparkinglots, building on the existing 9,450 slots. Also proposed istheconstruction of an automated people mover system and aconsoliatedrental car facility near the three terminals.
