Yamaha's factory in Newnan produces jet skis and all-terrainvehicles and was looking to add golf carts to its production in theSoutheast. Coweta County established a new charter technical skillshigh school to train students for jobs in the area. Local businessand industry leaders along with West Central Technical College formpartnerships with local industries and set the school curriculumbased on the needs of those industries.
The schools produce a ready-made workforce to serve thebusinesses. And, as the county had hoped, attracts additionalbusiness opportunities through expansion or the location of newcompanies.
