Construction on the interior of the casino should be finished bythe busy holiday season, but exterior renovations will not becompleted until spring, according to a casino spokesperson. Theriverboat casino was sold by Hilton Hotels Corp. to Isle of CapriCasinos Inc., which is based in Mississippi, last summer.

Also recently slowed by construction were numbers at the ArgosyCasino. Nearly a year of road construction along US 69 had made animpact there. Argosy officials are still deciding on whether totake on their own construction project and replacing a small casinowith a single-deck barge.

Coming up may be even more activity around the Station CasinoKansas City and Harrah's North Kansas City Casino & Hotel.Station Casino may be purchased in the near future by LasVegas-based Ameristar Casino Inc. and the addition of a $20-millionparking structure may follow the sale. Plans call for Harrah's toundergo a $45-million renovation that will replace its smaller boatwith a second deck on the larger boat.
