It's all part of parent company Coca-Cola's campaign to cut backoperating costs. MM will lay off about 150 employees, move theremaining 350 to newly leased offices "somewhere in Houston" - andput the building up for sale.

The prime location of the building at 2000 St. James, just westof the Galleria shopping malls, will make for lively bidding, whilebrokers scurry to meet MM's leasing needs.Coca-Cola and itssubsidiaries want to cut costs so it can spend more promoting itsbeverage brands. Minute Maid is the second largest orange juicecompany in the world, trailing Pepsico's Tropicana. Minute Maidemployees will learn who is getting the ax on Nov. 28, giving themall something to ponder over the Thanksgiving holiday.
