SECAUCUS, NJ-Earlier this year, Lantis Eyewear Corp. made news with the announcement that it would build a 338,850-sf warehouse and office building in the Hackensack Meadowlands, on land owned by Hartz Mountain Industries. Hartz was slated to do the build-to-suit.

That project will become a reality on Tuesday, Nov. 21, when Lantis and Hartz officials jointly break ground to inaugurate construction. Officials from the Hackensack Meadowlands Development Commission, which oversees the planning and development of the environmentally sensitive region, will also be on hand for the festivities.

The facility is slated for completion in September 2001, and it’s the penultimate building in the sprawling Harmon Cove mixed-use project, which Hartz began developing in 1966. The last available parcel is said to have been committed, with an announcement expected shortly.
