REDWOOD CITY, CA-A new apartment complex is entering the San Francisco Peninsula’s ultra-tight rental market. Irvine Apartment Communities announced that it has broken ground on a four-building, 206-unit complex at Maple Street and El Camino Real in Redwood City, Calif. The complex is being built on just over four acres near the downtown area, which is undergoing redevelopment.

The Newport Beach, Calif.-based developer said the complex’s one- and two-bedroom apartments will rent for $2,500 to about $4,000 a month, and should be finished by the end of next year. The project also includes between 5,000 and 10,000 sf of retail space.
