In light of both propositions failing, two city Supervisors areoffering up proposals to address the growth issues highlighted bythe two campaigns. Monday, Supervisor Mark Leno called for dot-comspace to be classified as office construction, closing a loopholethat has allowed construction of offices without going over thecity's mandated yearly cap. Meanwhile, Supervisor Gavin Newsom hasproposed an 18-month moratorium on office construction over 6,000sf in SOMA, Potrero Hill and the Mission District.

Many on the Board of Supervisors have indicated that they arenow ready to take a stance in what has been one of the most heatedpolitical battles of this election. And reports have indicated thatMayor Brown is amenable to working with the Board of Supervisors toestablish a compromise.
