Lowe's Companies Inc. plans to open a store south of the highwayin a shopping center proposed by San Diego developer SeabreezeProperties by the end of next year.

The Wilkesboro, N.C.-based chose a site west of Old Grove Roadand east of Mission Avenue for warehouse store.

Lowe's is scheduled to make its grand entrance into San DiegoCounty with a store in Mission Valley, scheduled to open inJanuary. It will be in the Fenton Marketplace center off FriarsRoad, joining Costco and as anchors. The company is looking atsites in Santee and Vista, company officials say.
