HASKELL, NJ-General Ceramics operated the 70,000-sf, two-building for more than 50 years before closing it down in May, 1999. But the tough-to-move property has been sold to an unnamed local private group that plans to redevelop the property. Development plans haven’t been disclosed.

Richard Van Houten, Jr., vice president in the Parsippany, NJ office of the Trammell Crow Co. engineered the sale. The sale was actually more of as disposition process, because TCC had to facilitate development of RFP specs in order to develop total project cleanup costs. The site will require some remediation.
