SAN DIEGO-Online real estate brokerage zipRealty.com reported today that it has achieved profitability in the San Diego metro area.

Just over a year after launching its San Diego operation, the local office is the second to report a profit out of 15 metropolitan locations across the nation, according to zipRealty.com officials.

“We are approaching operational profitability market by market,” says Juan Mini, CEO and co-founder of Richmond, CA-based zipRealty.com. “Achieving success in San Diego–the second metro we launched in–reinforces our goal to be operationally profitable in all of our metros by the first quarter of next year,” he adds.

In August, zipRealty.com announced a strategic relationship with eBay to provide professional real estate services as part of a new eBay real estate category. Current zipRealty.com investors include eBay, Benchmark Capital, Vanguard Ventures and Barrington Partners.
