A city council committee, as well as the full council, has heardand approved the plans brought forth by the planning, zoning andeconomic development committee. These plans call for tighterrestrictions in the 10-acre area located two miles south of theCountry Club Plaza.

Building tenants will not be allowed to occupy more than 10,000sf, with the exception of grocery stores, which may be up to 25,000sf. Parking restrictions will also be put into place as well asdesign standards. The area recently came under scrutiny after ownerHighwoods Properties and an Amoco gasoline station owner could notcome to terms on a lease, after which the station closed and talkssurrounded the possible opening of a Starbuck's coffee house.
