NEW YORK CITY-Today is Day Two for the New York Idea Exchange and Deal Making convention hosted by the International Council of Shopping Centers. By all accounts the show is a blockbuster, packing in some 4,200 retail and real estate executives to view nearly 300 exhibit booths at the New York Hilton.

The show, which winds down tomorrow, started yesterday on a high note with a keynote presentation by Christian Haub, president and CEO of A&P. He weighed in on the bricks-vs-clicks battle, hinting that the Internet’s threat to traditional retailing may be dwindling.

The day wasn’t limited to speeches, and the program offered a variety of topics for retail real estate executives. Included in the topics treated during yesterday’s seminar sessions were Shopping Center Investments for the New Millennium, the World of Small Centers, E-Strategy for the Future and the Changing Role of Today’s Retail Broker.
