The appointment, which became effective last Friday, has Mathisassuming responsibility for Greenwich Capital's finance,accounting, treasury and internal reporting operations. She reportsto Greenwich Capital's co-CEOs, Ben Carpenter and Jay Levine.Greenwich Capital Markets is a leading investment banking firmspecializing in fixed-income securities and is headquartered inGreenwich, CT.

Mathis joins Greenwich Capital after 12 years at Coopers &Lybrand, and its successor, PricewaterhouseCoopers, most recentlyas a partner and a member of its Capital Markets Group.

"Carol was our outside auditor and consultant and knows ourbusiness and our culture," Carpenter states. "She is a provenleader and manager who can tackle challenging issues." Mathisreplaced John Ryan, who had previously announced his retirementafter 16 years with Greenwich.
