Officials at St. Rose put estimates of a total teardown andrebuild of its current inpatient care ward, which was built in1962, between $60 and $90 million. And Eden officials sayrebuilding the adult trauma unit -- one of a mere two in the county-- could cost as much as $150 million. Statewide, it will take anestimated $24 billion to bring hospitals into compliance with theretrofit law. Hospital officials have until the beginning of nextyear to assess their seismic safety and provide reports to thestate.
